The Cecelia Quilt Top Dress
DESCRIPTION
The Cecelia quilt top was most likely made in the 1950s/60s, but features a mix of fabric from the 1910s-60s including blue calico, homespun plaid, etc. It features two hip pockets, thin spaghetti straps, and an adjustable tie in the back. Made in Athens, GA by professional seamstress Shawna Lea Maranville. Quilt top is made of mostly cotton, with a few squares of unknown fabric. It is in great condition for age and has been laundered.
This is technically the smallest of the dresses, made using a size 4 pattern, but is the most size adjustable due to the deeper V in the back. It can accommodate someone smaller or larger depending on desired fit. The dress form is a size small and I wear a size 8 (M/L) - as you can see, it can fit both of us nicely. This is also the only dress made with tiered construction, giving it more volume, a slightly longer length, and a deeper V in the back.
Measurements: 32” around upper bust (aka top band) when tied tightest, but can accommodate up to 42” upper bust. Measures 45” length from top of bust band (so not including strap length).
DETAILS
100% cotton. Unlined.
Made from antique materials sourced by Iron Pony
Hand wash gently and hang dry
