Late 1800s Cotton Seed Hand-Stitched Quilt

$298.00

DESCRIPTION

Listen, I promise I will not get into selling quilts full time but when I see one this amazing, I have to snag it! This quilt is entirely hand-sewn, with thousands of intricate tiny stitches. Colored pieces appear to vegetable dyed. You can see the cotton seeds sewn into the stuffing when you hold it to the light. You can quite literally feel the time and skill it took to create this stunning quilt. Quilts of this era and amount of stitches usually retail for $600+, but this has some flaws and is priced to reflect.

Flaws: Some small faint brown staining from age - please see photos. I have washed and rinse this quilt and stains remain. Red petals have wear, and there is wear and original repairs to the edge of quilt. Overall it presents beautifully.

Measures 79” x 80.5”.

DETAILS
  1. 100% Cotton

  2. From the 1870s

  3. Soak in cold water with mild detergent. Line Dry
