1940s Butterfly Rayon Dress (S/M)
DESCRIPTIONFrom my own closet: Spectacular semi-sheer rayon chiffon navy butterfly dress with matching belt. This dress came from a rural GA farmhouse where two sisters resided from the 1930s-60s. They were excellent seamstresses and made over 200 dresses - at least that we found. This one was one of the best in its construction and print.
Dress has a metal side talon zipper, sparkly plastic buttons down the front, and flutter hip details. Flaws include some small holes and rust stains on neck and shoulder from 70+ years hanging on a metal zipper. Dress is still very wearable, and I don’t think these flaws detract from the dress.

Measurements lying flat: 20” across bust, 14” across waist (can be belted smaller), 22” across hips, and 46” length.
